Dear Jr. Stars and Stars Families,
Thank you for your patience as our hockey organization took a few days to evaluate our upcoming conditioning clinics and tryouts in light of the guidelines for youth sports released by the Governor earlier this week.
As many of you know, we have safely and successfully held our summer hockey program since early June. With this in mind, our hockey directors and coaching committee met today, and we are pleased to announce that we plan to move forward with both as presently scheduled!
Subject to any further guidance from AHAI and NIHL, our clinics and tryouts will align with the Governor’s guidelines. Thereafter, players will meet their coaches and teammates, and conditioning and practices will commence in preparation for future scrimmages and games. Tryouts, conditioning and practices are all permissive under the Governor’s current guidelines and will be done with our player’s health and safety in mind.
We are in support of having hockey reclassified to a lower-risk sport and are working to achieve this goal. A heartfelt thank you to our hockey family for their efforts to also seek this change. You can find some of the latest news from USA Hockey and the CSDHL linked on this home page.
We are excited and hopeful for the upcoming 2020-2021 hockey season!
See you on the ice!
