Hockey Staff

Karim is in his first year as Hockey Director and has served as a Head Coach and Skills Coach with the Glenview Stars since 2024. He has worked full-time in elite hockey development since 2010, bringing extensive experience at the AAA and AA levels for both boys and girls.

Karim’s coaching philosophy centers on developing game-translatable skills while using hockey as a vehicle to build essential life skills, including character, heart, teamwork, problem solving, discipline, resilience, and accountability. He is known for delivering a robust, research-based hockey program that enhances skill development, conceptual understanding, and competitive drive.

A strong believer in long-term athlete development, Karim places significant emphasis on hockey education for both players and families within the club. He played his minor and junior hockey in Toronto, Canada, and holds a formal education in medicine as a Medical Doctor (MD).

Sylvain currently serves as the Director of Hockey Operations for the Glenview Stars. He has been the Hockey Director for the Glenview Park District since 1987 and previously held the role of Hockey Director for the Glenview Stars for 18 seasons, concluding in the 2024–2025 season.

Sylvain was inducted into the Illinois Hockey Hall of Fame in 2019, and in 2025 he received the AHAI Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his longstanding dedication and impact on minor hockey. Throughout his exceptionally successful tenure, he has overseen the development of thousands of young players, built deep ties within the Glenview community, and established strong, respected relationships across the Illinois hockey community.

In his current role, Sylvain oversees club operations, scheduling, and coaching. Prior to his coaching career, he played collegiate hockey at the University of Quebec in Montreal.

Nick is the Director of Girls hockey for the organization and was named AHAI Girls Coach of the Year in 2018. Throughout his time as Director with the Stars, Nick has led multiple teams to the National Championships.
