Hockey Staff

Karim has been a head coach and skills coach for the Glenview Stars since 2024. His coaching philosophy emphasizes character, heart, intentionality, and teamwork with focus on building life skills such as discipline, grit, communication, and accountability. Karim is known for providing a robust hockey program using research-based methods to design practices focused on game translatable skill development, conceptual learning and competition, while also incorporating hockey homework and video review to teach game tactics to reinforce skill acquisition and highlight individual and team progress.

Sylvain has been the Hockey Director for the Glenview Park District since 1987 and the Director of the Glenview Stars for the last 18 years. He was inducted into the Illinois Hockey Hall of Fame in 2019. He is responsible for Coaching and Player Development for the organization in addition to coaching Mite and Squirt level teams. Prior to coaching, Sylvain played for the University of Quebec in Montreal.

Nick is the Director of Girls hockey for the organization and was named AHAI Girls Coach of the Year in 2018. Throughout his time as Director with the Stars, Nick has led multiple teams to the National Championships.
