Board Breakout - July 25

The Board of Directors held their regular meeting on July 14, 2025. Below are some highlights of the topics discussed at the meeting and other announcements:

- We welcomed our next hockey director Karim Corringham and new Board member Celia Luett to the team.

- SAVE THE DATE: Stars Fest (our welcome party for new and returning families) will be held on September 14, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:30pm at GCIC! More details to come.

- SAVE THE DATE: The Annual Golf Outing will be held on September 25, 2025 at Glenview Park Golf Club. Stay tuned for registration and sponsorship information. We will have a special gift (in addition to the golfer gift) for all female golfers participating in the event.

 - August Townhall Meetings: We will host two Townhall Meetings in August 2025 - one in person and one via Zoom, to introduce our directors and the Board, and to provide a season overview. These meetings include key information, and we strongly encourage all parents and players to attend one of the sessions. Dates will be released soon.

- Dryland Training Update: We will continue our partnership with Goodman Elite Training for our club’s on-site dryland training. We are pleased to announce a new format for the 2025-2026 season: training will only include one team at a time unless the session is conducted in the Community Room. We do not intend to combine coed teams and girls’ teams for training. We appreciate Goodman Elite’s flexibility and their support of our club and the feedback from our families.

- Multiple Player Discounts: We are increasing our Multiple Player Discount for the 2025-2026 season: Families with more than one player and no other fee discounts, will receive a discount of $500 off the total of one player’s fees. Families with three players in the program will receive 50% off the lowest player fee. Families with four or more players in the program will receive 75% off the lowest player fee. This discount excludes dual rostered girls and part-time girls’ teams.

- Payment Processing Change: Last season, we transitioned to the Crossbar platform and began accepting only credit card or ACH payments for registration and season fees. During this time, the club covered all associated processing fees to help families adjust to the removal of check and Zelle payment options. Covering these fees represented a significant financial commitment by the club. Beginning with tryout and season registrations for the 2025-2026 season, all processing fees will be the responsibility of the registrant/purchaser. This aligns with the policies of neighboring clubs.

- Season Fee Overview: We spent considerable time reviewing our club’s growing expenses, last season’s fees, and fees charged by our neighboring clubs. We recognize that travel hockey is a significant investment, and we do our best to minimize increases when possible. This season requires more substantial increases in season fees in comparison to prior years. However, we remain competitive with or lower than neighboring clubs. We will also continue to offer a payment plan option, multiple player discounts, and the opportunity for partial or full scholarships based on need and an application process. Season fees include league fees, referee costs for league games, ice costs for team practices and games, goalie clinic, dryland training sessions (if applicable), on-ice skills sessions, and coaching salaries. Except as noted below, each team’s slush fund is used for tournament entry fees and coach travel expenses for tournaments (as outlined in our Handbook). The 2025-2026 season fees (plus processing fees) are as follows:
