New Hockey Director Announcement - Welcome Karim Corringham
Karim Corringham Named Next Hockey Director for the Glenview Stars
The Glenview Stars Hockey Association is thrilled to announce Karim Corringham as its next Hockey Director. With over fifteen years of experience in coaching, player development, and program management, Karim brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record of success to our organization.
Karim has been a head coach and skills coach for the Glenview Stars since 2024. His coaching philosophy emphasizes character, heart, intentionality, and teamwork with focus on building life skills such as discipline, grit, communication, and accountability. Karim is known for providing a robust hockey program using research-based methods to design practices focused on game translatable skill development, conceptual learning and competition, while also incorporating hockey homework and video review to teach game tactics to reinforce skill acquisition and highlight individual and team progress.
Karim is the owner of Hyperfit Hockey USA, a hockey school founded in Toronto by his mentor Ben Davis whom Karim began his coaching career with in 2010 after competing in AA/AAA minor hockey and Jr. A. Karim has worked with a wide range of players spanning minor hockey to professional for both Men/Boys and Women/Girls. Through Hyperfit, Karim has created a multitude of innovative hockey programs including: private instruction, camps, clinics, leagues and tournament teams. His dedication to long-term athletic development and building personal relationships with athletes has helped countless players advance to higher levels of competition.
Karim’s extensive coaching experience includes roles with elite teams such as the Durham West Lightning and Toronto Aeros Jr. A girls programs and the Toronto Titans AAA and Markham Majors AAA boys programs where he contributed to roster construction, individual player development, team systems, and overall success. He also serves as a private skill development coach and career mentor for NHL and AHL professionals and Junior and NCAA amateur players; providing tailored development, mindfulness techniques and support to help athletes excel on and off the ice.
In addition to his hockey expertise, Karim holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and has spent extensive clinical time in regenerative sport and orthopedic medicine. He is a member of USA Hockey and Hockey Canada; is a board member of Survivors For Change as well as several professional associations, further demonstrating his commitment to the sport and athlete development.
Karim’s leadership, innovative approach, and passion for hockey make him the ideal choice to guide the Glenview Stars into the future. We are excited to welcome him as our Hockey Director and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our players, teams, and community.
