Board Breakout - May 25
The Board of Directors held their regular monthly meeting on May 14, 2025. Below are some highlights of the topics discussed at the meeting:
- Our Spring programs will end this week. Best of luck to the teams competing this weekend and the rest of the month in tournaments! We will release our Summer flier soon.
- AHAI approved a rule change which allows boys/coed clubs to hold tryouts earlier beginning with the 2025-2026 season. Please note that our conditioning clinics will begin on August 10, 2025, and tryouts will begin on August 15, 2025. More details to follow.
- We are pleased to announce that all of our Girls Teams will participate in the Midwest Superior Girls Hockey (MSGH) through NIHL for the 2025-2026 season. This new chapter will bring together teams from Illinois, as well as highly talented players and programs from surrounding Midwestern states. They will offer competitive and inclusive divisions at the U10, U12, U14, U16 and U19 levels. A Governance Committee made up of select Girls Hockey Directors including our Girls Director Nick Lavalle will oversee key elements such as team placement, game counts, playoff structure, and the overall direction of this new competitive platform.
- Conditioning clinics for our Girls Nationals Eligible teams will begin on June 15, 2025. Tryouts will follow beginning on June 18, 2025. Card signing will be held on June 21, 2025. Good luck!
- Following input from some of the Girls Teams, we will be working with our vendor Title Wave Sports to provide a different warmup option for our Girls Teams for the 2025-2026 season.
- Please join us in welcoming Celia Luett to the Board of Directors! Celia will hold the position of Manager Liaison. The Luett Family has 3 kids in the Stars Program (2 Peewees and 1 Bantam). She will be a great addition to the Team!
- We are excited that Amber Souder will support the club beginning with the 2025-2026 season as the Chair of the Events Committee. Amber was a key volunteer last year and made our end-of-season Parent Party at Pinstripes a great success. The Souder Family also has 3 kids in the Stars Program (1 Mite, 1 Squirt and 1 Peewee).
- Our search process for our next Jr. Stars and Stars boys/coed Hockey Director is underway! We will keep you posted. Our goal is to have a new hockey director in place by August 1, 2025.
