The Glenview Stars Girls U-10 team had a full schedule over the recent holidays, competing in the Santa Shootout at Johnny's IceHouse in Chicago and taking on Northbrook at Watts in Glencoe.

Santa Shootout

The girls competed hard against a bracket full of all-boys teams to make it to the championship at Johnny's IceHouse over the holiday break. Hannah Jensen got off to a great start with a hat trick in the first game and ended the series with four goals. Bridgette Falkenhayen, Regan Lewis and Cecelia Jenkins added two each, along with one apiece for Sarah Herd, Makayla Paulson, Kaela Finegan and Abbie Kaestle. Goalies Mairead Harris and Rachel Lugo played awesome, making key saves throughout the games, with Lugo picking up a shutout in the third game against Northbrook Squirt Bronze. Though the team lost 2-0 in the championship against the Jets, it was a great team effort and the girls took home an impressive trophy!

Watts "Winter Classic"

On New Years Day, the girls took on the boys of the Northbrook Bluehawks Squirt Bronze team at the outdoor ice at Watts Ice Center. Congratulations to the Stars for defeating Northbrook 3-1 in a local version of the Winter Classic.
