The Glenview Stars Squirt 1 team compiled an impressive 3-0 run during round-robin play on their way to second place this past weekend at the Motown Cup Classic in Detroit, Mich.

The team started with a 3-2 victory over the Grosse Pointe Bulldogs on Friday night, then notched back-to-back shutouts on Saturday. The Stars defeated Compuware 5-0 in the first game on Saturday, then picked up their third victory of the tournament by beating the Essex County Ravens 1-0.

At the championship game on Sunday, the Stars started down early in the first period then fought back from a 0-3 deficit to come within one goal late in the third. Though the team fought hard and created some great opportunities around the net, they came up short 3-2 at the buzzer against the Grosse Pointe Bulldogs.
