Good luck to all Stars teams taking part in the Northern Illinois Hockey League (NIHL) playoffs, known as the Wolves Cup. All regular-season Stars teams qualified for the NIHL playoffs this year, which is quite an organization-wide accomplishment. Congratulations Stars and remember to wear your jersey to school on Friday.

Most teams play their first game this weekend. The Stars Mite 1, Squirt 1 and PeeWee 1 teams enter round-robin tournaments for their divisions with Mite 1 at Artic Ice Arena, Squirt 1 at Leafs Centre and PeeWee 1 at the Edge in Bensenville.

All others Stars teams are playing first-round, single-elimination games:

• Mite 3 vs. Winnetka #3
• Squirt 2 vs. Winnekta #1
• Squirt 3 vs. Express #2
• PeeWee 2 vs. Bruins #1
• PeeWee 3 vs. Ice Dogs #3

The Stars Bantam 1 team played their NIHL playoff game on Wednesday, resulting in a 7-5 loss to the Ice Dogs.
