Congratulations to Glenview Stars Squirt 3 Coach Jeff DeFrancesca for being honored by the Chicago Blackhawks as the "Harris Bank Coach of the Month." Read more on the Chicago Blackhawks site.

The Blackhawks will formally present Jeff with the award during a ceremony at the Thursday, Jan. 14 Blackhawks vs. Blue Jackets game at the United Center. As part of the ceremony, the Blackhawks will show a short video highlighting Jeff's accomplishments as a leader in the hockey community. Later in February, Comcast will broadcast an interview with Jeff.

Candidates for the Harris Bank Coach of the Month award are evaluated on:

• Hockey accomplishments
• Volunteer activities in the nominee's community
• Demonstrated passion, dedication, and spirit through commitment to community

Jeff's hockey bio demonstrates his commitment to these initiatives, and rave reviews from his players, fellow coaches and team parents show that he has made a huge impact this season with his team. His team's 10-4-1 record is pretty impressive, too!
