Congratulations to the Glenview Stars Bantam 2 team for bringing home the gold in a clean sweep of the 2013 Brickyard Tournament this past holiday weekend in Indianapolis!

The tournament began Saturday, as Bantam 2 edged out the Vernon Hills Ice Dogs with a 4-3 victory. On Sunday, Bantam 2 fought hard and played a physically demanding game against the Chicago Blues, winning by one goal. That same evening the Stars competed against Rockford, winning 3-2.

On Monday morning, the Stars played an exceptional game, shutting out the Michigan-based Fraser Falcons by a score of 4-0, earning the Stars a spot in the championship game. The championship game was a rematch against the Chicago Blues and was the kind of performance the coaches and parents were incredibly proud to watch. The Stars ended the tournament with a decisive 4-0 win against the Blues, completing an undefeated run of the tournament.

The team’s tournament sweep is a testament to the high-energy, physical play they have become known for as they continue their march to the playoffs. Congratulations to the Glenview Stars Bantam 2 team on their well-deserved championship. Great work, boys!
