Congratulations to the Glenview Stars Mite 1 team for winning the Mite AA Blue Championship at the Chicago Pre-Season Challenge tournament. The Stars went 2-1 during round-robin play, beating the Naperville Sabres and St. Jude Knights before dropping a game to the Kensington Valley Rebels from Brighton, Mich.

After evoking tie-breaking rules to resolve a 3-way tie, the Stars defeated the Rebels 3-1 in a rematch showdown for the championship banner.

In NIHL league play, the Stars Mite 1 team is undefeated with a 1-0 record in the tiering round. The Stars take on the Chicago Hawks, also 1-0, this Friday at 6:35 p.m. in Buffalo Grove.
