This past weekend the Glenview Stars Bantam 2 team had a successful trip to Indianapolis. It was an exciting weekend that started out with an unexpected loss to the Twin Bridges Lightning on Friday night. The boys bounced back strong in Saturday morning's game, scoring a strong goal in the first 10 seconds of the game and never letting up from there, beating Evansville Thunder.
In the third game, the boys encountered another strong opponent and fell just short despite two goals in 17 seconds for the Stars.
In Sunday morning's early semi-final game, the Stars met up with an undefeated team. Not to be intimidated, the Stars skated strong and took home the win in a thrilling shootout victory.
For the championship, the boys met up with the Evansville Thunder again. In a tough and competitive game, the Stars ended up taking the second place trophy despite strong goaltending from goalies Wes Koerner and Jay Baker.
Come see the Bantam 2 trophy at Glenview Ice Center. The Stars hope it's one of many the team can bring home throughout the year.
