Denis Savard met with the Stars Bantam Elite team at the Glenview Ice Center.

Blackhawk legend Denis Savard visited the Glenview Ice Center and spoke to the Stars Bantam Elite and Mite Elite teams. Savard, who has been a part of two Stanley Cup victories, was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2000. He spoke to the Bantams about the importance of education and school for hockey players looking to play at the next level.

Savard then gave an informal talk to the Mite 1 team in the locker room after their practice. He spoke about how he got started playing hockey at age six and encouraged all young hockey players to skate as much as possible. Savard said that when he was a child, he skated often at outdoor rinks and attributed much of his success to the skills he developed there while playing pickup hockey with friends and neighbors.

Denis was gracious enough to sign a few autographs for Mite and Squirt players at the rink and then watched the Bantams take on the Express. Thank you to Denis, the Blackhawks and everyone else who had a part in making his visit possible!
