The Chicago Steel are offering Glenview Stars players free tickets for two opening weekend games! On Friday, Oct. 1, the Steel begins the 2010 season by taking on the defending Western Conference Champion Fargo Force. On Saturday, Oct. 2, the Steel take on the Youngstown Phantoms. New Head Coach Jon Waibel has assembled a team that is looking to make it back to the playoffs and compete for the Clark Cup Championship.
The Chicago Steel hockey team is the Chicago area's Tier 1 Junior hockey program, comprised of top-level players who are 20 years of age and younger. The Steel play in the USHL, which is the top junior ice hockey league in the United States and a prime feeder route for NCAA Division 1 college programs and some NHL teams.
Both games are at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville (about 25 minutes from Glenview) and begin at 7:30 p.m. To take advantage of the free ticket offer, print the PDF and present it at the box office. Remember to wear some Glenview Stars apparel!
If you haven't been before, Chicago Steel games are always a lot of fun. The hockey is hard-hitting, admission is inexpensive (and free this weekend) and they have a variety of food and beverage options.
