Congratulations to the Glenview Stars Squirt CSDHL team for winning the Smokey Mountain Shootout tournament in Nashville. The Stars swept every team in the round-robin to advance to the championship game on Monday over the holiday weekend and outscored the competition 15-1 during the early rounds, 19-2 overall.

In the championship game, the Stars faced a rematch against the Lansing Spartans who gave them their closest game earlier in the tournament. Ultimately, the Stars, led by MVP Anthony Emme on the ice and Coaches Jimmy Philbin, Mike DiMaggio and Steve Sormaz, were able to hold off the Spartans for a second time to clinch the championship, winning the game 4-1.
