The Glenview Stars PeeWee Elite team is closing the season with a strong showing in both the NIHL and State tournaments.
In the NIHL Wolves Cup, the team won the NIHL second place flag after going 1-0-2 in the round robin portion, advancing them to the championship game past the top-seed Yellow Jackets. The Stars took an early 2-0 lead over Northbrook in the championship game, but lost 3-2 to an overtime powerplay goal.
The PeeWees hope to extend their post-season run in the State finals, the Blackhawk Cup. The team had a bye in the first round and beat the same Northbrook team 4-1 in the second round to move on to the Final 8 of the Pee Wee AA playoffs. Round robin play begins this Friday with a matchup against the CSDHL Blues, followed by the CSDHL Huskies and the NIHL Elite Ice Dogs.
Congratulations and good luck PeeWees!
The moms of PeeWee 1 got into the action by wearing Stars jerseys to support the team. Go moms!
