The Stars wish all of our players and families warm holiday wishes. Though most teams will have a reduced schedule over the break, Squirt 2 and Squirt 3 will represent the Stars in the Silver Stick tournament (schedule). Bring it, Squirts!

For those players looking to stay on the ice and develop some new skills, there are many camp and clinic opportunities over winter break. The Glenview Park District hosts its Winter Carnival program at the Glenview Ice Center from Dec. 21 through Jan. 3, with skills sessions, a 3-on-3 tournament and public skate sessions. More information is available here.

The Turcotte Stickhandling Hockey School offers three-day stickhandling classes at the Glenview Ice Center and other area rinks. See their website for details.

For free outdoor skating, check out the rinks at Flick Park (3600 Glenview Road) and Johns Park (2101 Central Road). Both rinks are lighted and open until 10 p.m. nightly.

Most other rinks in the area host skills clinics and camps over the holiday as well, so be sure to check around if the Glenview offerings don't work for your schedule. Stay sharp over the break!
