We had a great turnout on Saturday at our informational meeting for the Girls Stars U8, U10, and U12 teams. We were able to begin the registration process with 30 girls already and several more with interest. This is a big jump from nine players just three years ago!
Our goal is to play 10 games for every girl in order to qualify for the State playoffs. This will be a challenge as the new NIHL rules have put a limit on the number of games the boy’s teams can play. We will need everyone’s help to get the games scheduled. We are looking for contacts within each of the different organizations to help us set up games. We can play boy’s teams, girl’s teams and house-level teams.
First, we will kick things off with a clinic for all current players and new girls who are interested in all age groups. This will give the coaches a chance to see all the skaters and get an idea of where they would fit best.
The all-girls clinic will be:
September 26 from 3:55 p.m. - 5:25 p.m.

We have openings on all three teams as well as plans for a possible A2 level team. After the clinic, Coach Brush will contact you to discuss where he thinks your player will fit.

Next, in order to move forward we need to have everyone who is interested registered with the Stars and USA Hockey to be on the roster. If you attended the meeting and gave me your player’s information or e-mailed it to me you are registered with the Girls Stars. If you are not a current 2009-2010 member of USA Hockey, you will register online at http://www.usahockeyregistration.com. Please bring a copy of your registration number or receipt to the girls clinic.
We will also need to have everyone’s game/practice schedule in order to make our schedules. Again, we try to do our best to schedule when most girls are available along with a goalie.
