Congratulations to the State Champion Glenview Stars Girls U10 team

After two years of hard work, the Glenview Stars Girls U10 team became State Champs with a 5-0 victory over the Yellow Jackets in the 2009 Blackhawk Cup Championship Game in Bensenville. The girls built on their 3rd place finish last year with a lot of hard work, dedication, and fun on and off the ice with their teammates. They played a difficult schedule this season, enjoying success with their 2nd place finishes in tournaments in Connecticut and Detroit against some of the best girls' teams in North America, and took their lumps against some top Squirt teams including one of the best in Wisconsin. Their hard work paid off and they achieved resounding victories in the State Round Robin against NIHL Tournament Champs Winnetka, NIHL Tournament Runner-Up Fury, and Wilmette. This is a dedicated group of girls. In addition to their NIHL Mite and Squirt team commitments, they played 29 additional games as a girls' team, had practices and traveled to tournaments. The Glenview Stars again say congratulations and thank you to the girls, parents, coaches, and managers for their dedication and outstanding work. This was truly a team effort with all involved.
