The PeeWee A1 Glenview Stars team participated in a community service project to help foster children in the surrounding areas.  The Stars players and their families volunteered their time at CASA Lake County, which is a nonprofit organization that advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the juvenile court system.  Based on the belief that every child is entitled to a safe and permanent home, thoroughly trained CASA volunteers work in collaboration with key agencies, legal counsel and community resources to serve as the child’s advocate and represent the child’s best interest in juvenile court.  The Stars players and families organized donated items as well as put together over 50 care packages to be distributed to children entering foster care.  Many children when entering foster care, do so unexpectedly and oftentimes, without their belongings.  These care packages will ensure that every child who has to enter foster care, will be provided basic necessities as they deal with the trauma and uncertainty of their situation.  Thank you Stars players and families for showing a commitment to helping youth in need!
