Tryouts for the Glenview Stars Girls U8, U10 and U12 teams will be held from Sept. 8-10, 2011.

In continuing to build a strong girls hockey program, the Stars will be offering girls U8, U10 and U12 hockey teams. All girls will compete with their normal travel or house teams, and in addition will play on a girls only travel team at a nominal charge.

With so few “all girl” programs available, the Stars have an “open arms” policy for all players without a girls program. We offer a place for girls to play with good coaching and a friendly, positive atmosphere.

With the current AHAI rules in place, all U8, U10 and U12 teams are eligible to play in both coed and the girls State Playoffs if their respective teams qualify.

This year the Glenview Stars will field Girls U8, U10 and U12 teams. Each girls teams will play an abbreviated travel schedule consisting of 10-15 games and will practice about twice a month. Girls are allowed — and encouraged — to be double-rostered on both a boys house or travel team and a girls team. The fee for the girls program will be approximately $650. All three teams will be coached by experienced travel coaches.
