Welcome back Stars families,

Can you believe that summer is almost over and hockey season is around the corner? I, for one, am very excited about the upcoming season. Most of you have heard of the ADM (American Development Model); it is a great thing for hockey. The idea is to develop complete athletes -- not just hockey players -- following a model called LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development). What will that change for us? Mostly it will be our skills sessions: the emphasis will be on small-area games and skills stations, two things the kids love to do. There will still be A2 hockey for the younger ones not quite ready for a full season of travel hockey.

On the coaching front, I am very proud of our coaching lineup and we have some very exciting news: unfortunately for us, Jeff DeFrancesca will be moving on to become the assistant coach at Lake Forest College. It is a great opportunity for Jeff and we wish him the best. 

We would like to welcome back into our coaching ranks John Harris. John has his name embroidered on numerous flags at Glenview and will be heading our midget program. Brien Martin will be joining us full time as our PeeWee AA coach. Recently Brien coached high school hockey and Central States teams. He has also been a part of our A2 program for the last few years.
