Local Krolak Cup Festivities Celebrated by Stars Families

The Swedes are landing soon! As part of Glenview and Northbrook's spring Bantam program, we are proud to be hosting two teams from Huddinge, Sweden in a tournament known as the Krolak Cup. This will be our 14th Anniversary partnering with the Spirit of Chicago Foundation, founded by Bob Krolak, to promote this 13/14-year-old youth international hockey tournament. We have 29 players from the Huddinge hockey organization coming over with their parents/families, arriving April 10 and 11.

The hockey tournament is April 15–19 and Glenview has three teams participating. All games will be played at the Northbrook Sports Center. During the week, the Swedish players stay with a host family. There are many activities planned for the Swedish players and their families to ensure they get the most out of their stay. Swedish players will tour Chicago and the United Center, go to a Chicago Wolves game and shadow their host player at their school.

The Stars invite you to come out to the Krolak Cup opening ceremony and to the games. The opening ceremony are at Northbrook Sports Center on Tuesday, April 14 at 7:15 p.m. on Rink A and will conclude at 8 p.m. The opening ceremony provides an opportunity to welcome all the Swedish players and families and continue the tradition started in Huddinge. Great memories and lifelong friendships are created. Some day you may play in this very tournament, so we especially encourage all our younger Stars players to attend.
