Tryouts for the Glenview Stars fall 2011-12 teams got underway Thursday night in Buffalo Grove and Glenview with a strong showing of Mites, Squirts, PeeWees and Bantams. Players, coaches and parents alike were excited that the season is officially underway.

In Glenview, stations were set up around the lobby for players to register for tryouts, get fitted for travel jerseys, encourage parents sign up for volunteer activities throughout the season, check out some new Stars apparel from Big Lou's Pro Shop and learn about USA Hockey's new checking rule.

Tryouts continue through Wednesday, Sept. 7 and team practices begin on Sept. 8 for Bantams and Sept. 9 for most other teams. The practice schedule for the first two weeks of the season is available now on the Glenview Stars website calendar.
